Note: In 1986, I was in Chengdu and met about 30 American teachers from the English Language Institute called ELIC . While I was there, I bought some red pajamas. On September 15th, 1986 when they left, I wrote this poem "Red Pajamas". Youth is willfulness and brute force! In fact, the process of disappearing is also beautiful.

I

have some red pajamas

Like the reflection of the setting sun in the river...

A gust of wind

blown away my pajamas

My youth goes with the wind...

If

towards dusk

into the sunset

Can't find my pajamas either,

Should I go on into the darkness and wait for another dawn?

Written on campus on September 15, 1986.
