Prior to focusing on immigration law, Ms. Smith practiced intellectual property law for more than a decade at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, and her experience as a registered patent attorney provides her with an excellent combination of analytical and legal skills.

Smith is also active in various academic and social functions. Additionally, she has made important contributions to the cultural, educational, economic and technological exchanges between China and the United States.
