Zehra Sun, Asia Chairman for LABA Biennial International Art Festival


Los Angeles, California, USA. Zehra Sun, Board member of the Los Angeles Beverly Arts (LABA) was elected to be the Asia Chairman for the LABA Biennial International Art Festival. Zehra Sun is a successful and passionate leader with more than 30 years of experience in executive management, public relations, medical-related administration and education. She is skilled at identifying new opportunities, leading and developing teams, and working in challenging and fast-paced environments. She is actively involved in charitable organizations and has been very supportive of LABA, and the arts community.


Zehra Sun is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder of MDSUN Skin Care, and has led the company to become an international beauty industry leader with operations in more than 45 countries. Zehra’s academic credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in History from National Taiwan University in Taipei and a Master of Arts Degree in East Asian Studies from Indiana University. Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin), and Turkish, Zehra brings strong international leadership and strategic planning skills to MDSUN’s successful expansion into new markets. 



Sun is a prominent figure in the business world and has received many awards for her outstanding work in the local and international community. Her awards include: Humanitarian Award from World Global Peace Ambassador and United Nations Goodwill Peace Ambassador (2019), Beverly Arts Charity and Contribution Award (2019), the 4th Golden Crown Award from the Global Chinese Business Women's Federation (2016), California Business Community Contribution Award from the U.S. House of Representatives (2016), and the Community Contribution Award from Los Angeles County (2016), the LABA Icon Award (2022), and the LABA Most Visionary Entrepreneur (2024).

Situated in the vibrant downtown area of Los Angeles, the LABA Biennial International Art Festival has been actively fostering and participating in international art exchanges since its inception, with a particular focus on promoting collaboration and exchanges among artists from Asia, Europe, and the United States. Since the establishment of the LABA Biennial International Art Festival in October 2020, Zehra Sun and her team have been committed to supporting the arts and LABA's various charity activities. In addition to being awarded a LABA Icon Award, she was nominated by the LABA Committee as an award presenter at the LABA Icon Awards ceremony in 2023. Sun presented an award to singer/songwriter Chris Mann, well-known for his performances in "Phantom of Opera", and being a contestant on The Voice television show.



All of LABA's board members strive to make the LABA Biennial International Art Festival a world-class event and as it reaches out to the art, business, and creative communities.
