LA Press Club's 67th Southern California Journalism Awards

Members of the local television stations and Captain II Erik Scott (C), Public Information Officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department, were honored with a Special Award for the outstanding news coverage of the 2025 Wildfires


Los Angeles, California, USA. 22nd June, 2025. The Los Angeles Press Club held it's 67th Annual Southern California Journalism Awards at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

The awards were given out to honor editorial excellence during 2024. The highlights were the Daniel Pearl Award to Clarissa Ward of CNN, the Bill Rosendahl Public Service Award to actress Kim Fields, and the Joseph M. Quinn Award for Lifetime Achievement to Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times. A special award was given local television stations for their outstanding coverage of the 2025 wildfires - ABC7, FOX11, KCAL News/CBS Los Angeles, KTLA, NBC4, Spectrum News 1, Telemundo 52, and Univision 34.

The categories include awards for print, TV, radio, digital, photojournalism, political commentary, entertainment reporting, investigative journalism, and more. Members of the Los Angeles Beverly Arts (LABA) attended the event including TV host Joey Zhou, founder of LABA, and director/filmmaker Harrison Engle, LABA Board member. Celebrates excellence in journalism across Southern California, honoring reporters, photographers, editors, podcasters, and media outlets.
