Jinli Qu is Nominated for a LABA Icon Award

Jinli (Gina) Qu is an opera singer and director from China who graduated from the Vocal Performance and Opera Department of the Central Conservatory of Music, where she studied under renowned singers and educators Ye Peiying and Li Weibao. After graduation, she joined the Air Force Song and Dance Troupe and participated in the national tour of the opera "Sister Jiang." She also played the lead role in the opera "Snowy Plateau Storm," participated in the All-Army Arts Festival, and recorded various cultural performances and programs for CCTV. Later, she transferred to the Arts Center of Beijing Television as a director, where she directed the recording of the final solo concert in Beijing by the world-renowned tenor Luciano Pavarotti. In recognition of her significant accomplishments, she has been nominated for a Los Angeles Beverly Arts (LABA) Icon Award.

Jinli Qu interviewed and recorded Lang Lang's piano recital at the Beijing Great Hall of the People and participated in the directing team of large-scale song and dance galas such as the Beijing TV Spring Festival Gala and Mid-Autumn Festival Gala. In 2024, she participated in the New York Chinese New Year Gala as a soprano soloist and served as the gala's music director. In 2025, she participated in the Southern California Chinese New Year Gala "Hometown Feelings, Affection for Irvine" as a soprano soloist, and in March 2025, she served as a judge for the semi-finals of the 6th Southern California College Alliance "Sing If You Want" vocal competition. She recently participated in this year's Chinese New Year Gala "Hometown Feelings, Affection for Irvine" again as a soloist and has been active in the arts community here in Southern California.
