HuiMei Shi (ShiMei), an internationally renowned singer and musician, has been nominated for a LABA Icon Award. The 5th LABA Icon Awards ceremony will be held on March 15th, 2026 in Los Angeles, California. She is being honored as a first-class musical artist, a creative lyricist, composer, and singer. As a prominent female in the contemporary musical world, her outstanding accomplishments are widely recognized both domestically and internationally.
HuiMei Shi (ShiMei), a native of Beijing, is a distinguished singer/songwriter who holds a Master’s degree and is recognized for her multifaceted contributions to music and culture. She is a member of the China Democratic National Construction Association, the Chinese Musicians Association, the China Acrobats Association, and the Beijing Musicians Association. She has also been honored as a World Outstanding Chinese Artist, International Cultural Ambassador, Sino-French Cultural Exchange Ambassador, International Cultural Image Ambassador, Asian Pop Musician, and Chinese Charity Ambassador.

In 2024, Shi received two major accolades: the World Outstanding Chinese Artist Certificate and the title of Sino-French Cultural Exchange Ambassador. HuiMei Shi (ShiMei) is one of the rare young artists in the Chinese music industry who excels as a lyricist, composer, and singer. Known for her persistence, fearlessness, and determination, she has created and performed a large repertoire of original works shaped by her personal experiences and the needs of the era. Among her most celebrated songs, “The Focus of Love” and “The Missed Lover” have become modern classics in Chinese pop music. Her songs have accumulated billions of views and downloads, frequently appearing on the TOP 500, Rising Star Charts, and the Asian Pop Music Chart, earning her the Asian Pop Music Award.
Shi has collaborated extensively with renowned Chinese lyricist Zhang Li, receiving valuable mentorship that helped refine her creative voice. She composed works such as “Elements of Happiness,” “Pursuing Love,” “Ordinary Woman,” and “Beautiful Angel.” Zhang Li praised her as a promising musician with significant potential in both songwriting and performance.
