Jianwei Zhu once studied under renowned calligraphers and painters such as Wang Deren and Zhou Wenqing. His teacher, Wang Deren, praised Zhu’s diligence, saying, "Besides diligently practicing various calligraphy styles and learning from many masters, Jianwei also has a deep understanding of traditional calligraphy theories and Chinese and Western aesthetic theories.  Furthermore, he considers studying classic works from ancient and modern times as paramount.  Seeing the pile of discarded practice papers, over a meter high, next to Jianwei's desk, one understands that his success is by no means accidental!"

His diligence left a lasting impression on Zhou. Wenqing stated, "While managing his business, he was able to balance both aspects very well, maintaining long hours of practice every day. He even carried a calligraphy dictionary with him when traveling on business trips. Diligence is crucial for studying calligraphy."
