Dr. G. James Daichendt's Acceptance Speech for LABA International Art Festival Icon Charity Award

Dr. G. James Daichendt

G. James Daichendt, Ed.D is an art critic, art historian, professor, author, and a co-chairman of the LABA International Art Festival and The Beverly Arts Online Exhibition. He is the President of the Presidium of the Jury and will be overseeing the judging process for the art festival. He is currently the Professor, Dean of the Colleges, and Vice-Provost at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. His educational background includes a doctorate degree from Columbia University and graduate degrees from Harvard and Boston Universities. He was unable to attend the LABA International Art Festival Icon Charity Awards in person and accepted his award with the following letter that was read to the audience during the event on September 29th, 2021.

A huge thank you to the LABA Board of Directors and advisers for this honor. This is a wonderful gesture and I am very grateful for what it represents. Please accept my warmest wishes and gratitude. As someone who cherishes the arts and the many creative individuals that make up the art world - I am beyond humbled to contribute scholarship, criticism and knowledge to our shared field of study. In the end, I am inspired by all of you - the artists that make this world so special and wonderful to be a part of something larger than ourselves. As the LABA International Art Festival begins to take shape - I wish the many artists nominated the best of luck and success in their creative work. I look forward to honoring each of these artists as well. I am sending my best wishes to everyone present and I hope to be with all of you at future events.
